The Costa do Cacau has 128 km of paradisiacal beaches surrounded by Atlantic forest, waterfalls, coconut palms, mangroves, cocoa plantations, and rivers of crystal clear water that flow into the sea. There you will find three of our destinations: Itacaré, Serra Grande, and Ilhéus, as well as trails, waterfalls, practically virgin beaches, and breathtaking landscapes.
The city of Itacaré is small and welcoming, with happy and hospitable people. Former port of cocoa trade, the municipality still retains the charm of the past, mainly in its old buildings and cobbled streets. At first glance, Itacaré may look like many other cities in the interior of Bahia, with colorful houses and some vestiges of the colonial era, but the traveler should not be taken in by this first impression. Itacaré has a concentration of everything that makes this world a beautiful place: beautiful white sand beaches, lush and preserved nature, wonderful people, delicious food, tranquility, and most importantly: sun and waves all year round!
Serra Grande is a small and peaceful village located between the trendy Ilhéus and Itacaré, in the heart of the most ecological road on the south coast of Bahia, with white sand beaches and full of coconut trees. The city was built on top of a green hill overlooking the Atlantic Forest - much of it still virgin - and the clear blue sea. There are 22 km of white sand and coconut trees for you to relax, surf or just stroll, in what seems like an endless beach.
Ilhéus is the destination with the longest coastline in Bahia, with 100 km of beautiful beaches and carefully preserved Atlantic Forest. Famous for the stories of Jorge Amado and for his cocoa farms, the city also has a historic center that tells a lot about the country. Although it has a tourist vocation and excellent structure, Ilhéus maintains its prosaic charm from the golden days of cocoa.
The nearest airport for the three destinations is Ilhéus, which is 45 km from Serra Grande and 130 km from Itacaré.
